An optimal steering law for sails that exploit both solar and infrared planetary radiation pressure is presented in this paper. The maximises the orbit raise over one revolution of sail around planet. indirect analytical approach, uses Pontryagin Minimum Principle, used to develop specialised laws sunlit eclipse cases a planar motion scenario. case emitted from planet, while finds attitude using only radiation. Numerical results show these lead better performance terms raising against other sub-optimal strategies exploiting only. A numerical study also carried out effects reflectivity coefficient band on orbital sail.
